Upon the closure of Tri-CAM, Inc., former Tri-CAM Vice President David Nordman purchased the Magna-Lock USA brand, incorporating the brand as Magna-Lock USA, Inc.

Magna-Lock USA is a workholding product line that has provided workholding across a multitude of industries since the 1940s.

Magnetic Specialties Corporation closed it's doors and with that, Magna-Lock USA, Inc. purchased the company's assets, the lift magnet brands of MagnaLift & Power-Grip.

The two brands have been providing lifting magnet solutions since the 1940s and have been previously owned by the likes of Hanchett Magna-Lock (MagnaLift) and Sundstrand (Power-Grip).

Presented with the opportunity to purchase the Arter Precision Grinding Machine line from Quantum Design, Inc., Magna-Lock USA, Inc. made the move to purchase all assets of the Arter line and looked to revive the struggling line.

In a corresponding move to avoid confusion between the four brands that it now owned, Magna-Lock USA, Inc. changed the name of the company to Obsidian Manufacturing Industries, Inc.

Obsidian also became woman-owned, with Sue Nordman taking the reins as President while David Nordman became Vice President, Sales Engineer, and oversaw production.

With another opportunity to expand, Obsidian Manufacturing Industries, Inc. purchased the assets of Stieg Grinding Corporation, adding some of the largest capacity grinders in the local area to the already established brands.

Obsidian also found it's new home where Stieg once called home at 5015 28th Ave., Rockford, IL.

The future shows a path of growth as Obsidian Manufacturing Industries, Inc. paves the way forward with the evolution of industry-proven products.
