Our company is led by our President, Sue Nordman. Manufacturing always has been close to her heart with her family having established strong roots in the industry years before her. Her focus is concentrated on marketing, sales, and accounting but you can find her playing a part in just about every team here at Obsidian. She was a driving force behind the acquisition of Arter Precision Grinding Machines brand and the purchase of the assets of Stieg Grinding Corporation.

Engineering & Design Team
We have an engineering library dating back over a hundred years ago. Our engineering team relies on these resources for both new product design and rebuilding of older products. New product development includes extensive testing and evaluation before it meets the end user. Upon request, customers can visit our production floor to view our products before shipment.
Production Team
We pride ourselves in employing skilled machinists and laborers with a combined 150+ years of experience in manufacturing, machining, and production. They are our greatest asset and we value their skills, ambitions, and potential. By welcoming a new generation of machinists, our employees are working for the future while using the experience of the past.
